September 20th, 2012 – Travelogue: Summer 2012
Hey, folks – Marc here.
Lately it seems my home and office are either the airport, the back of a cab, or 30,000 ft up. Luckily between Apple hardware, DropBox software and GoGo inflight WiFi, work continues.
Of course I always shut off Words with Friends before we take off. Cool sidebar: one of this summer’s trips was to San Francisco to interview the guy who developed that game. He’s a UCF Alum and we went out to interview him for his 2012 Black & Gold Gala video .
This is our twelfth year producing the UCF Alumni project. As a UCF alumnus myself, it’s really cool to meet so many accomplished folks from my alma mater. Sixteen alumni interviews means a lot of flying too, since most of them no longer live around here. Including our other summer gigs, check out the coverage:
We have a seven-year history now with another client, APCO International. This August their annual conference was in Minneapolis…which meant a welcome change from the steamy Florida summer. My own background is in theatre, so doing live events is always a favorite part of my job. We do all of the scripting and show-flows for their major events, plus lots of pre-produced HD media, general event development, we rehearse their presenters onsite, etc.
This year, local boy Louie Anderson was the Gala dinner entertainment. Funny dude. Also very friendly, gentle and gracious.
We also had shoots this summer (including some onsite editing and delivery) in Dallas and Seattle, and this fall will have me in New York City, LA, Winnipeg, and Hawaii (OK, that one’s personal), as well as the very real possibility of another run to Europe for a large corporate project. To sum it up, it has been a busy few months.
Good thing we have that Hobbit Second Breakfast potluck tomorrow. You’re coming, right?
