A New Web Site for our 19th Birthday

Hello, friends!

Another May 9th is right around the corner, and Odyssey Creative will be celebrating 19 years of producing live events and video content. I would like to offer my deep, personal gratitude to the many clients, team members, partners, vendors, and friends who have made it all possible.

This year is different for a lot of reasons, most of them connected to the COVID-19 pandemic. The world has changed dramatically in the last few months, and no one knows what to expect. It’s a very anxious time for everyone I know in every profession.

I don’t have any unique perspective to offer on top of what others are already saying every day, but I do take some comfort in the supreme adaptability of our species (if not our culture). For better or for worse, we are a resilient strain.

In the meantime, like most of you, the Odyssey Creative team is quarantined, not getting on any airplanes, and working from home.

Doing our best to make lemonade from the cards we’ve been dealt, we’ve been spending this unexpected downtime as productively as possible. In fact, we just finished a completely new web site to better reflect our focus on live events and the content to support them.

As a matter of fact, if you’re reading this post...you’re already in it.

Whoa…

Whoa…

The new site is lightweight, mobile-friendly, and streamlined, but still feature rich. We’re very pleased with it, and hope that you enjoy poking around. Some of my favorite elements:

  • The new Team page, which uses quick, get-to-know-you points (Kim’s idea, btw) instead of the traditional, text-heavy bios - plus photos by our friends at Macbeth Studio

  • The Live Event Production page, with a quick breakdown of all the things we do, plus a video about our process that we feel really love

  • And the Case Studies page! This is our first time summarizing and sharing details from live event projects (which is why there’s only one so far), but we think it will be a great way to continuing telling the story of how we do what we do

And now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to get on a Zoom call and remotely eat some virtual birthday cake.

“Wait, so can I eat this or not?”

“Wait, so can I eat this or not?”

Sending our love and care to all of you out there working in your homes and worrying about the future. Yes, the world is going to be very different for a while, maybe forever. But we’ll adapt, and we’ll keep going.

-Marc
